Overall Impression
To me it was relatively fast paced not in the “not boring” sense but in the getting through a lot of agenda items relatively quickly but I think this is because most of the work is done behind the scenes and they are now executing perfunctory steps. Not everything is like this obviously but much of it. There was a lot of self-congratulatory comments given that there were commendations given out.
Meeting Agenda Item(s) of Interest
Honestly, none of them were that interesting to me. But, I thought some of the discussion of the “250682 Planning Code; Zoning Map - Consolidating the North Beach Special Use and Neighborhood Commercial Districts and Expanding Allowable Uses and Use Size Limits in Certain Zoning Districts” from Sauter was mildly interesting given the economic incentives.
Most Surprising
I learned there’s much more grandstanding from the Board of Supervisors which makes sense given their higher profile nature and bigger audience the sessions attract.
Political Dynamics
No, I didn’t really but wondered how much there was and how much kayfabe there is at the local level given said grandstanding.
Questions
I want to learn more about the behind the scenes dynamic and work that happens that the meeting just shows the end result of. I didn’t feel too confused.
